Drivers in Pulaski, Wilcox, and Dodge counties are advised to slow down due to heavy rain causing potential street flooding. The National Weather Service (NWS) Peachtree City issued a Special Weather Statement today, October 4, at 9:09 PM EDT, indicating that heavy rain is impacting the area and is expected to continue until 10:00 PM EDT.

At 9:08 PM EDT, radar indicated heavy rain was located over Ocmulgee Banks, approximately 10 miles west of Eastman, moving northeast at 5 mph. This heavy rain may lead to temporary street flooding, particularly in areas with poor drainage.

Locations impacted include Eastman, Pineview, Union, Dubois, Gresston, Plainfield, Empire, Cedar Creek, Godwinsville, Ocmulgee Banks, Finleyson, and Roddy.

Motorists should be prepared for possible loss of control due to hydroplaning. The NWS advises slowing down and exercising caution while driving through the affected areas during this time.
