A High Wind Warning has been issued for the Bears Paw Mountains and Southern Blaine, effective from 8 PM MDT this evening until 6 AM MDT Saturday, September 26. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Great Falls, Montana, issued the warning at 12:31 PM MDT today.
Residents in the affected areas should immediately secure any loose outdoor objects that could be blown around or damaged by strong winds. West winds are expected to reach 30 to 40 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph.
The NWS warns that these damaging winds are likely to blow down trees and power lines, leading to widespread power outages. Travel will also be difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles, during this period.
