A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 9 AM CDT today for Lawrence, Jefferson Davis, Covington, Jones, Marion, Lamar, and Forrest Counties, urging drivers to use caution due to severely reduced visibility.
Motorists in Lawrence, Jefferson Davis, Covington, Jones, Marion, Lamar, and Forrest Counties are advised to drive with extreme caution this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Jackson, MS.
The advisory is effective immediately, October 13, at 5:05 AM CDT and will remain in effect until 9:00 AM CDT today. Visibility has been reported at one quarter mile or less in dense fog, making driving conditions hazardous.
The NWS urges all drivers to slow down, use their low beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance between their vehicle and others on the road. Reduced visibility significantly increases the risk of accidents. This advisory specifically impacts Jefferson Davis, Lawrence, Marion, Covington, Forrest, Jones, and Lamar Counties.
