A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service Morristown TN, effective immediately until 8:00 AM EDT (7:00 AM CDT) Sunday, October 11.

East winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts reaching up to 50 mph are expected across portions of East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Stronger gusts are possible at higher elevations. Affected areas include Scott, Campbell, Claiborne, Hancock, Hawkins, Sullivan, Morgan, Anderson, Union, Grainger, Hamblen, Northwest Cocke, Northwest Greene, Washington, Northwest Carter, Roane, Loudon, Knox, Jefferson, NW Blount, North Sevier, Sequatchie, Bledsoe, Rhea, Meigs, McMinn, Northwest Monroe, Marion, Hamilton, Bradley, West Polk counties in Tennessee, and Lee, Wise, and Scott counties in Virginia.

These gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down, and isolated power outages are possible. The National Weather Service advises using extra caution, especially when driving high-profile vehicles, as strong winds can make driving difficult.
