Drive with Caution: Dense Fog Advisory Issued for Central Nebraska

Residents in central, east central, and south central Nebraska are advised to drive with extreme caution this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Hastings, NE. The advisory is effective immediately, from 6:29 AM CDT until 11:00 AM CDT today, September 28, 2026.
Visibility is reported to be less than one-half mile in dense fog, making driving conditions hazardous. The affected counties include Sherman, Howard, Merrick, Dawson, Buffalo, Hall, Hamilton, York, Gosper, Phelps, Kearney, Adams, Clay, Fillmore, Furnas, Harlan, Franklin, Webster, Nuckolls, and Thayer.
The NWS instructs all drivers to slow down, use their headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of them to ensure safety during this period of reduced visibility.
