DRIVE WITH CAUTION: A Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Peachtree City GA warns of patchy dense fog affecting portions of east-central Georgia this morning, October 2, 2026. Visibility may be reduced to less than one-half of a mile.
This advisory is in effect from 4:07 AM EDT and the fog is expected to lift after 9:00 AM EDT today. Affected counties include Hancock, Warren, Jones, Baldwin, Washington, Glascock, Jefferson, Bibb, Twiggs, Wilkinson, Johnson, Emanuel, Peach, Houston, Bleckley, Laurens, Treutlen, Dooly, Crisp, Pulaski, Wilcox, Dodge, Telfair, Wheeler, Montgomery, and Toombs.
If you are driving in these areas this morning, the NWS advises you to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and leave extra distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you.
