Three States Schedule Executions for Same Day

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Three U.S. states, Tennessee, Alabama, and Oklahoma, have scheduled executions for Thursday. This coordinated timing would represent the first instance of three states conducting executions on the same day in nearly 16 years. The last time three individuals were put to death on the same day in the United States occurred in 2010.

Tennessee officials plan to execute an inmate. Alabama authorities also have an execution scheduled for Thursday. Concurrently, Oklahoma officials have set an execution for the same day. These scheduled events collectively mark a significant and uncommon occurrence in the application of capital punishment within the country.
