CURRENT OPENINGS: MAINTENANCE WORKER I The Town of Fairplay is accepting applications for a full-time Public Works Maintenance Worker I position. As an Entry-Level Public Works Maintenance Worker, candidates are expected to become part of the team that keeps our community’s infrastructure in top shape. Whether it’s repairing sidewalks, clearing snow, maintaining public spaces, or supporting special events, Staff’s work will be seen and appreciated by residents, business owners and visitors every day. Duties include, but are not limited to: Assist in maintaining streets, sidewalks, parks, and public facilities. Operating light equipment and tools for landscaping, snow removal, and minor repairs. Supporting seasonal projects such as Town Clean-Up, Burro Days and other annual and special events. Performing basic utility-related functions for the Town’s Water and Sewer systems. Candidates for the position of Public Works Maintenance work must possess the following minimum qualifications: a valid Colorado driver’s license (or ability to obtain one within 90 days), ability to pass a criminal background check and a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience operating heavy and light equipment and snow removal equipment preferred. Ability to perform physical labor and able to lift 50 pounds. On-call shifts are required. Candidates must also have the desire to also obtain water or wastewater treatment certifications. Salary range is 44,000-56,000 DOQ and includes an excellent benefits package. EOE WASTEWATER SUPERINTENDENT The Town of Fairplay is accepting applications for a full-time Wastewater Superintendent. The successful candidate will be a team player and help to train Maintenance Workers in basic plant functions as well as assist the Public Works Department with functions such as clearing snow, maintaining public spaces, or supporting special events when time/duties permits. Duties include, but are not limited to: Manages and oversees Wastewater Treatment distribution and collections operations, and all system maintenance, repairs, and expansions. Supervises, plans work for and fosters development of assigned Staff. Prepares Annual budget and oversees all system expenditures and revenues. Ensures regulatory compliance, and manages biological/chemical treatment processes and SCADA system. Candidates for the position of Wastewater Superintendent work must possess the following minimum qualifications: 10 years of related experience including 3-5 years in a supervisory role; Colorado Wastewater Treatment Level B and Collections Level 1 certifications; a valid Colorado driver’s license (or ability to obtain one within 90 days), and ability to pass a criminal background check. Degree in Civil, Biology, Construction Management or related field preferred (equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered). Must also have ability to be on-call, lift 50 lbs and perform occasional climbing. Minimum qualifications entry level salary range is $74,360-$84,989 and includes an excellent benefits package.
