ABB to Double Senatobia Plant, Adding 200 Manufacturing Jobs
ABB announced a $40 million expansion of its existing Senatobia facility as part of a broader $120 million U.S. manufacturing investment strategy. The project will double the size of the Mississippi plant, significantly boosting its production capacity for low voltage circuit breakers that power critical infrastructure nationwide.
When the expanded facility opens in the second quarter of 2026, the 200 new positions will bring the Senatobia workforce to more than 1,000 employees. The expansion targets growing demand from customers upgrading aging power infrastructure and expanding operations across North America, with particular emphasis on data centers, advanced manufacturing facilities, and renewable energy microgrids.
ABB's circuit breakers are engineered to provide the higher power reliability essential for data center expansion and other large-scale industrial operations where consistent, high-quality power is critical. The investment reflects broader confidence in Mississippi's manufacturing sector, which has attracted significant corporate commitment over recent years. The company has invested more than $500 million across U.S. operations over the past three years, with the United States serving as ABB's largest global market.
The Senatobia expansion underscores Mississippi's competitive advantages in attracting advanced manufacturing operations. Alongside ABB's growth, other major manufacturing investments have bolstered the state's industrial portfolio, from Siemens Energy's $300 million Rankin County facility to General Atomics' $25 million Shannon expansion.
