New Beach & Park Parking Rules Enforced in Hallandale

Hallandale residents heading to city parks and beaches will find parking rules clearly defined, with enforcement in effect to ensure compliance.

Parking lots within city parks, including those at Joseph Scavo Park and Peter Bluesten Park, are exclusively for park users during operating hours. Vehicles must pull in only; back-in parking is prohibited. Parking is restricted to designated spots.

Violators and unauthorized vehicles may face ticketing and towing at the owner's expense, as stipulated by City Ordinance 16-6.

Most city park parking is free. However, North City Beach and South City Beach Parks have specific hours and requirements.

Public parking at the North City Beach Park garage is available daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. South City Beach Park parking is open from 7 a.m. until dusk.

For metered street parking adjacent to parks, payment options include the PaybyPhone app, available for download on Apple and Android devices.

Electric vehicle charging stations are available for park patrons at Golden Isles Tennis Center, Peter Bluesten Park, and Sunrise Park. These chargers operate at $0.30 per kilowatt-hour. Smart chargers at Golden Isles Tennis Center and Sunrise Park incur a $10 per hour overstay fee after 30 minutes past a completed charge.

FPL EVolution fast chargers are located on street parking in front of Joseph Scavo Park, subject to parking and FPL charging fees.

At North City Beach Park and South City Beach Park, paid parking applies to all designated handicapped and standard parking spaces, consistent with Florida Statute §316.1964 (8) and City Code Section 28-137.

Vehicles displaying a disabled parking permit and transporting the permit holder, or those with a Florida Toll Exemption Permit transporting the permit holder, are exempt from fees. The permit must be properly displayed with a visible expiration date and used only when the permit owner is present.
