Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Dallas, Guthrie, Madison, Polk Counties

Residents in Dallas, Guthrie, Madison, and Polk Counties are advised to seek immediate shelter as a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 10:45 PM CDT tonight, October 8.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Des Moines, IA, issued the warning at 10:09 PM CDT. At that time, a severe thunderstorm was located near Redfield, or near Adel, moving southeast at 30 mph.
The primary hazard associated with this storm is half dollar size hail, which is expected to cause damage to vehicles.
Locations impacted include West Des Moines, Urbandale, Clive, Waukee, Winterset, Adel, Earlham, De Soto, Van Meter, Jordan Creek Town Center, Valley West Mall, Redfield, Dexter, Diamondhead Lake, Linden, and Badger Creek State Park.
This warning also covers Interstate 35 between mile markers 70 and 72, Interstate 80 between mile markers 99 and 125, and Interstate 235 between mile markers 1 and 2.
