Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Delaware & Ottawa Counties Until 4:30 PM CDT

Residents in Delaware and Ottawa Counties, Oklahoma, are advised to immediately seek shelter due to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tulsa. The warning is in effect until 4:30 PM CDT today, September 20.

At 3:48 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was detected near Bernice State Park, moving northeast at 25 mph. This storm is expected to bring significant hazards, including 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail. Radar indications confirm these threats.

Anticipated impacts include hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Areas in the path of this storm include Grove, Fairland, Afton, Bernice, Wyandotte, Honey Creek State Park, Bernice State Park, Ottawa, Twin Bridges State Park, and Zena. Additionally, Interstate 44 between mile markers 295 and 308, and between mile markers 311 and 312, is affected.
