Texas Health Worker Tests Positive for Ebola

A healthcare worker at Texas Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas has tested positive for Ebola, according to initial testing conducted by the Texas Department of State Health Services' laboratory. The individual provided care for the patient previously diagnosed with Ebola in the United States.

The health worker reported a fever and was immediately isolated. The individual remains in isolation while further testing proceeds.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will perform confirmatory testing today to verify the Texas Department of State Health Services' findings.
