Dayton ProRider Helmet Recall 2022 Safety Alert
The City of Dayton warned parents to stop using ProRider bicycle helmets manufactured in 2022 after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission found they fail to meet impact protection, stability, labeling, and certification standards. The helmets may not adequately protect children's heads in crashes.
The city distributed the helmets through safety programs before learning of the defects and halted distribution immediately.
Recalled models include the Economy Bicycle Helmet, Bike Helmet with Turn Ring, Bike Helmet Black Foam, BMX Helmet, and Toddler Bike Helmet in blue, green, red, black, and purple. Parents can verify whether their helmets are affected by checking the manufacturer's date on the interior label. All recalled helmets carry a 2022 date.
ProRider offers parents two options. For a full refund, cut the helmet straps and email a photo of the destroyed helmet to [email protected]. For a replacement, submit a photo of the helmet, a photo of the interior label showing the manufacture date, the helmet size, and a mailing address.
Contact ProRider at 800-642-3123 (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. PT), [email protected], or www.prorider.com.
