Medina City Council Gives $50,000 to Fight Food Insecurity

Medina City Council approved a $50,000 donation to Feeding Medina County in November, targeting food insecurity across the region. About 11.4% of county residents lack reliable access to food, with children affected at higher rates.

Council members and city staff volunteered at two distribution events. At an April 21 event at the Medina County Fairgrounds, organizers served 271 people across 101 families and brought in 32 new participants.
