St. Peter Students Create Puppet Music Videos in Art Tech
Seventh graders at St. Peter Catholic School created music videos featuring hand-made animal puppets wearing school uniform shirts. Reston Butcher, Isaac Caceres, and Luke Walter filmed river footage outside the art room using greenscreen technology, then edited their videos with iMovie on iPads and added soundtracks from the app's library.
Fifth graders in the 5W class used Tinkercad, a computer-aided design program, to build digital houses set in fantastical landscapes with oversized flowers. Students whose designs were showcased include Jordan Jasinski, Hayden Chesson, Emersyn Sutton, Gavin Montgomery, Eleonor Torres, Sophia Guerrero, Harper Tennis, Henry Wiseman, Katie Bucci, Baylor Keeter, Ben Wilkerson, Haley Wedge, George Getz, and Allen Chang.
Both projects combined traditional craft skills with digital tools, exposing students to software used in architecture and engineering.
