Residents across central, east central, north central, northeast, and west central Georgia are advised to secure outdoor objects and drive with caution today, October 10, 2026. The National Weather Service (NWS) Peachtree City has issued a Wind Advisory effective from 5:00 AM EDT until 11:00 PM EDT.

East winds are expected to reach 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph. These gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects, and there is a potential for tree limbs to be blown down, which could lead to isolated power outages.

The Wind Advisory impacts the following counties: Oglethorpe, Wilkes, Morgan, Greene, Taliaferro, Butts, Jasper, Putnam, Hancock, Warren, Lamar, Monroe, Jones, Baldwin, Washington, Glascock, Jefferson, Crawford, Bibb, Twiggs, Wilkinson, Johnson, Peach, Houston, Bleckley, Laurens, Dooly, Crisp, Pulaski, Wilcox, and Dodge.

The NWS stresses that winds of this strength can make driving challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Drivers should exercise extra caution throughout the day. All residents in the affected areas should take steps to secure any loose outdoor items.
