Greensboro students are set to benefit from a suite of federal programs designed to enhance academic achievement, support English learners, and provide well-rounded educational opportunities. These initiatives, funded through federal grants, aim to ensure all students, from the heart of Hale County to our surrounding communities, graduate college and career ready.

The Federal Programs office, under the guidance of Coordinator Dr. Kesia R. Wright, plays a crucial role in administering these funds. The overarching vision is for every student, whether they attend school near the historic Hale County Courthouse or further afield, to reach their maximum academic potential, supported by resources and targeted assistance.

Key among these programs is Title I, Part A, which directs financial aid to schools with a high concentration of students from low-income families. This funding is intended to help these students meet challenging state academic standards.

Title II, Part A focuses on improving teacher and principal quality. It provides financial assistance to increase the number of highly qualified educators and administrators in classrooms and schools across the district.

For students learning English, Title III, Part A offers financial support for language instruction educational programs. The goal is to help English Learners (ELs) achieve English proficiency while also meeting state academic standards.

Additionally, Title IV, Part A provides funding to support well-rounded educational experiences, promote student safety and health, and facilitate the effective use of technology in schools.

The Federal Programs office also oversees the district's Family Engagement Plan and adheres to ESSA Complaint Procedures, ensuring accountability and community involvement in educational initiatives.

Dr. Kesia R. Wright serves as the Federal Programs Coordinator. For more information regarding these programs, individuals can contact her office at 334-624-8036 or via email at [email protected].
