Defense Secretary Hegseth Testifies Before Congress on Iran Conflict

Defense Secretary Hegseth testified before Congress Wednesday, facing questions regarding the United States' involvement in the conflict with Iran.

The Pentagon disclosed during the hearing that military operations in Iran have cost $25 billion since the beginning of the war. While active engagement has paused, the U.S. military continues to enforce a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz which sees around 30% of the world's crude oil travel through, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
