A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Eastern Pondera and Eastern Teton, Cascade County below 5000ft, Judith Basin County and Judith Gap, and Meagher County Valleys. The National Weather Service in Great Falls, MT, warns of heavy, wet snow and difficult travel conditions.
The warning is in effect from October 10 at 4:13 PM MDT until October 12 at 6:00 AM MDT. Total snow accumulations are expected to range between 7 and 14 inches, with wind gusts as high as 35 mph.
Travel could become very difficult due to the heavy, wet snow. Gusty winds combined with the snow's nature could cause tree branches to fall, leading to isolated power outages. Snowfall amounts may vary significantly between grassy surfaces and roadways, particularly at lower elevations.
If travel is essential, motorists are advised to keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in their vehicle in case of an emergency. For the latest road conditions, dial 511.
