Residents in Crawford, Oscoda, Roscommon, and Ogemaw counties, including the areas of Roscommon, West Branch, St. Helen, and Rose City, should seek shelter indoors immediately due to gusty showers and isolated thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Gaylord MI has issued a Special Weather Statement, effective now, October 7, 2026, until 8:15 PM EDT. Doppler radar indicates wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph are tracking southeast at 45 mph, currently near South Branch Township, impacting communities including Rifle River State Park, Luzerne, and Lake St. Helen.

These winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. If you are outdoors, move inside a sturdy building. Stay updated on local conditions.
