Bucks County residents will have 10 opportunities to receive free naloxone and education on its use during the annual Save a Life Day on Thursday, September 24, 2026. This nationwide day of action aims to combat the overdose crisis by increasing access to naloxone, an easy-to-use nasal spray that reverses opioid overdoses.

The events in Bucks County are part of a larger national effort, with over 750 free naloxone events scheduled across the U.S. Save a Life Day, now in its seventh year, focuses on widespread naloxone availability and education as a critical countermeasure to opioid-related deaths. Naloxone, approved by the FDA over 50 years ago, became an over-the-counter medication in 2023, making it more accessible to the public.

Local events will take place at various locations throughout Bucks County, offering convenient access for many communities. These sites include the Bucks County Administration Building in Doylestown, the Bucks County Free Library Quakertown Branch, and multiple Family Service Association of Bucks County locations in Langhorne and Quakertown.

Additional participating sites are the Penndel Mental Health Center Outpatient Center in Langhorne, PRO-ACT’s Southern Bucks Recovery Community Center in Bristol, Rosewood Recovery in Newtown, and St. Luke’s Grand View Hospital, St. Luke’s Penn Foundation Recovery Center Outpatient Building, and St. Luke’s Upper Bucks Campus, all in Sellersville.

Residents can visit www.savealife.day for a full list of participating states and counties, along with a map of all event locations. The widespread availability of these free events underscores the community's commitment to providing life-saving resources and education to those who need it most.
