Eleven P-H-M Third Graders Named National Math Stars Nominees

Eleven third graders from Penn-Harris-Madison schools scored in the top 2% of Indiana third graders on the mathematics portion of ILEARN, earning them recognition as National Math Stars nominees.

The Indiana Department of Education partners with the National Math Stars Program to identify and support exceptional young mathematicians through academic enrichment, mentorship and advanced learning opportunities.

Horizon Elementary produced three nominees: Booker Kieser, Claire Stewart and Rowan Aland. Northpoint Elementary also named three: Alan Jiang, Mason Ye and Frank Li.

Five other P-H-M elementary schools contributed one nominee each: Niko Hernandez (Bittersweet Elementary), Daniel Ashdown (Elm Road Elementary), Zeke Lannan (Elsie Rogers Elementary), August Kelver (Meadow's Edge Elementary) and Emily Wojcik (Prairie Vista Elementary).

The National Math Stars Program operates nationwide to support students who demonstrate exceptional mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
