Boaters on Lake Moultrie are advised to exercise extreme caution due to a Lake Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Charleston SC. The advisory is effective immediately, October 10 at 10:16 AM EDT, and will remain in effect until 8:00 PM EDT this evening.
East winds are expected to reach 15 to 20 knots, with gusts up to 30 knots. Waves on Lake Moultrie are anticipated to be 1 to 2 feet. These conditions will create hazardous situations for small craft.
The NWS Charleston SC warns that strong winds and rough waves have the potential to overturn small vessels. All boaters operating on Lake Moultrie should be aware of these conditions and take necessary precautions.
