BRAINATION Opens 5 Texas Campuses for Residential Students

BRAINATION will open campuses in Fort Worth, Levelland, Post, San Angelo, and Wichita Falls for the 2026-27 school year, expanding its education program to students in residential facilities across Texas.
The organization serves students in residential and juvenile facilities. Superintendent Justin Johnston said BRAINATION focuses on teaching students to use their natural curiosity rather than meeting compliance requirements through computer programs and seat time.
"It's about truly learning how to leverage the natural curiosity of the brain to inspire students facing significant challenges," Johnston said.
BRAINATION teaches students to learn from their circumstances. Johnston said students who learn during difficult experiences gain skills they can use throughout their lives, in times of both flourishing and struggle.
Johnston said the organization differs from traditional residential facility programs by offering staff higher levels of professional development and giving educators more autonomy. He said success means facilities see their needs met, staff feel supported, and students engage in growth.
