Golden Police Seek Two Assault Suspects | January
The Golden Police Department is asking for help identifying two assault suspects from January. Officers released composite sketches and descriptions after completing initial investigation steps.
On January 18, a man sexually assaulted a woman near U.S. Highway 6 and Ulysses Street at Golden Cemetery in the early afternoon. The victim fled and a witness followed the suspect for several blocks before losing him.
Police describe this suspect as Hispanic, late 20s to early 30s, 5'9" to 5'11" tall with a medium build, dark brown eyes, black or dark brown curly hair, and a groomed beard. He may drive a maroon 2001 Subaru Forester.
On January 25 at Ford Street and 7th Street, a man chased a female runner on the Clear Creek Trail. Police describe this suspect as Middle Eastern, mid-20s, 5'7" tall, 150-160 pounds, slender build, dark brown or black curly hair, brown eyes, and a faint mustache. No vehicle connects to this suspect.
Investigators have not determined if the incidents are connected. Both victims were alone in isolated public areas when assaulted.
The department withheld detailed information initially to protect victim privacy and preserve investigation integrity.
Police recommend residents stay aware of their surroundings, travel with others when possible, avoid distractions, and use well-lit, populated routes.
