Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Shelter Immediately in Bosque, Hill, Johnson, Somervell

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for portions of Bosque, Hill, Johnson, and Somervell counties until 5:30 PM CDT today, September 20. Residents in these areas are advised to get inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows immediately.
The National Weather Service in Fort Worth issued the warning at 4:46 PM CDT. A severe thunderstorm was located near Cleburne State Park, approximately 13 miles southwest of Cleburne, moving east at 20 mph. This storm is capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and penny-sized hail, with radar indicating the threat.
Impacted locations include northeastern Somervell County, central Johnson County, north central Bosque County, and northwestern Hill County. The storm is expected to be near Cleburne State Park and Lake Whitney around 4:50 PM CDT, and Cleburne and Lake Pat Cleburne around 5:05 PM CDT. Other areas affected include Eulogy, Rio Vista, Rainbow, Parker, Retreat, Brazos Point, Briaroaks, Sand Flat, Coyote Flats, and Nemo. This warning also covers Interstate 35W between mile markers 10 and 33.
Property damage to roofs, siding, and trees is expected. Residents are urged to take immediate shelter and remain indoors until the warning expires at 5:30 PM CDT.
