Residents in Glasscock, Howard, and Mitchell Counties are advised to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building immediately due to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Midland/Odessa TX.

This warning is in effect until 9:30 PM CDT tonight, September 30. At 9:13 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were detected with radar, located along a line extending from 9 miles west of Lake Colorado City State Park to 10 miles southeast of Coahoma to 9 miles south of Forsan. These storms are moving east at 30 mph.

The primary hazard is 60 mph wind gusts, which could cause damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Colorado City, Coahoma, Forsan, Colorado City Airport, Lake Colorado City, Lake Colorado City State Park, Westbrook, and Buford. This also includes Interstate 20 between mile markers 187 and 217.

Torrential rainfall is associated with these storms and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. For your safety, follow all instructions from local authorities.
