The City of Obetz is seeking public input on a proposed project to construct an ADA-compliant paved multi-use path at Dixon Quarry. This project is part of a broader effort to improve accessibility, safety, and connectivity throughout the community. The proposed path would enhance access to recreational areas and connect to existing and planned trail systems in the region, supporting long-term mobility and outdoor recreation opportunities. Project Overview The proposed multi-use path would: Provide an accessible, paved route for pedestrians and cyclists Improve connectivity within Dixon Quarry and surrounding areas Support safe, inclusive access for individuals of all abilities Align with regional trail and infrastructure improvements Potential Environmental Considerations As part of the planning process, the project will evaluate potential impacts to: Natural areas within and surrounding Dixon Quarry Nearby waterways and drainage features Vegetation and wildlife habitats All environmental considerations will be reviewed and addressed in coordination with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). June Events Guide: Summer Concert Series, Retrofest & Foam Fest in Mishawaka

" This June, there is no shortage of activities in the City of Mishawaka. Throughout the month, residents and visitors can enjoy a variety of exciting events and activities taking place across the City. With so many exciting events happening nearly every weekend, it’s the perfect time to get out and explore. During the week, residents and visitors can experience the Summer Concert Series on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The Monday concerts will be held at the Battell Park Bandshell, 301 W. Mishawaka Avenue, Mishawaka, IN 46545, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The Wednesday concerts will be held at the Ball Band Biergarten, 230 Ironworks Ave, Mishawaka, IN 46544, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  The Thursday concerts will be held at the Central Park Stage, 295 E Mishawaka Ave, Mishawaka, IN 46545, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. This weekend, Saturday June 13th, is the City of Mishawaka’s annual Retrofest! Mishawaka’s Retrofest takes guests back in time, featuring rockin ‘tunes, fun games, and delicious food and beverages from various vendors. Retrofest will take place from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Ironworks Plaza. Tickets bought in advance are $5, and at the gate they are $10. This event is cashless, and children 12 and under receive free admission. Purchase tickets at https://wl.eventim.us/event/Mishawaka-RetroFest/ The following weekend, Saturday June 20th, is the City’s annual Foam Fest. Foam Fest is the perfect opportunity to cool off on a hot summer day. Foam Fest is happening at the Ironworks Plaza from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm! The Independence Day Celebration will be on Saturday, June 27th, from 5:00 pm to 10:30 pm. There will be fireworks celebrating America’s 250th birthday, as well as food trucks, market vendors, live music by Tege Holt and Small Town. This event is free and will be held at Central Park, 295 E Mishawaka Ave, Mishawaka, IN 46545. There is not a shortage of activities to participate in this month. Each event is perfect for a date night, family night, or time to spend relaxing with friends.
