STAMFORD — Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy held back-to-back observances this week for Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha'Atzmaut, drawing Upper School students to lead memorial and celebration events.
On Yom Hazikaron, students shared stories of fallen soldiers and terror victims during a school assembly. Representatives from the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces attended alongside IDF reservists, who spoke about their experiences following October 7 and life in Israel.
The next day, Upper School students organized Yom Ha'Atzmaut celebrations featuring music, dancing, and a field day. Faculty, staff, and students marked Israel's Independence Day together.
