Residents in Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, and Etowah Counties should prepare for a High Wind Warning effective from 1 AM Saturday, October 10th, until 1 AM CDT Sunday, October 11th. The National Weather Service in Birmingham, Alabama, has issued this warning due to expected southeast winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 55 mph.

These strong winds are anticipated to cause significant impacts, including downed trees and power lines, leading to widespread power outages. Travel will be difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles.

The NWS urges all residents in the affected areas to secure any loose outdoor objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. Taking these precautions can help prevent property damage and ensure safety during this period of severe weather.
