Lake Wind Advisory Issued: Hazardous Conditions for Small Craft on San Luis Reservoir

A Lake Wind Advisory has been issued for the San Luis Reservoir until Sunday, October 11, with hazardous conditions expected for small craft due to strong winds.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Hanford, CA, has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for the San Luis Reservoir, effective immediately until 11:00 PM PDT on Sunday, October 11.

West winds are expected to reach 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph. These strong winds and rough waves will create hazardous conditions for small craft on the reservoir.

Drivers, particularly those operating high-profile vehicles, should exercise extra caution as these winds can make driving difficult. The affected area is specifically the San Luis Reservoir, located in the West Side Mountains north of Highway 198.
