Selma Blossom Trail Opening Ceremony 2026
Selma hosted the 2026 Fresno County Blossom Trail Opening Ceremony on February 4 at the Selma Arts Center, marking the city's first time hosting the event since 2019.
The Selma Fire Department Honor Guard presented colors. Joaquin Aranda, president of Selma High School's Future Farmers of America, led the Pledge of Allegiance. Tonya Smith sang the national anthem.
Nick Sahota, president of the Selma District Chamber of Commerce, welcomed guests and thanked local partners. A video showcased Selma's section of the Blossom Trail and the city's identity as the Raisin Capital of the World.
Mayor Scott Robertson addressed the crowd and acknowledged generations of families and farmworkers who shaped Fresno County's agricultural economy. Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig, serving as master of ceremonies, said the Blossom Trail began in 1988 to highlight the Valley's spring blooms and agricultural strength.
Ryan Jacobsen, CEO of the Fresno County Farm Bureau, spoke about Fresno County's status as the nation's leading agricultural county. Selma High School agriculture advisors Katie Chambers and Grace Mendes presented updates on the school's FFA program and student-led agricultural projects.
Local artist Amy Morgan unveiled the 2026 Blossom Trail poster. Organizers announced that Orange Cove will host next year's opening ceremony.
Guests shared a community lunch featuring food from Sal's Mexican Restaurant, Cho's Kitchen, Panaderia Vanessa, Asoka Indian Cuisine, Maiden Voyage, and Ma and Pa Kettle Corn.
