Franklin Mayor Gives $25,000 to Boys and Girls Club After Federal Cuts

Franklin Mayor Larry Dixon presented a $25,000 check to the Boys and Girls Club of Franklin-Simpson on Friday, March 27, providing emergency funding after federal cuts reduced the organization's budget.

Dixon gave the check to CEO Brittany Curry during a ceremony with club students. The city funds will help the club maintain after-school programs, homework help, sports leagues, arts activities, and mentorship.

The club serves youth in Franklin and Simpson County. Federal funding reductions have forced nonprofits nationwide to seek local support.
