Franklin Mayor Gives $25,000 to Boys and Girls Club to Cover Federal Cuts

Mayor Larry Dixon presented a $25,000 check to the Boys and Girls Club of Franklin-Simpson on Friday, March 27, offsetting recent federal funding reductions.

Brittany Curry, the organization's chief executive officer, accepted the check during a ceremony with club members. The city allocated the funds after the nonprofit lost federal grant support.

The Boys and Girls Club serves youth in Franklin and Simpson County through after-school programs, homework help, sports leagues, and arts activities. The grant will sustain operations through the current fiscal year.
