A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Inland Franklin County, effective immediately from the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee FL. This warning was issued today, October 9, at 8:28 AM EDT, and expires at 4:30 PM UTC. Residents must act now to complete preparations.

Forecasters anticipate winds of 10-20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, with a potential for sustained winds of 39 to 57 mph. Damage to unsecured items, large tree limbs, and some power outages are possible. Protect property now.

A Flood Watch is in effect, with an additional 4-8 inches of rain expected, potentially leading to major flooding. Evacuations and rescues are likely. Heed all flood watches and warnings, as failure to act could result in serious injury or loss of life.

The situation is also favorable for tornadoes, with a potential for several, some possibly intense. If a tornado warning is issued, be ready to shelter quickly. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should relocate to safe shelter. There is little to no threat of storm surge flooding.
