Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Tarrant County Residents Advised to Seek Shelter Immediately

TARRANT COUNTY, TX – A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Tarrant County, effective immediately until 8:15 PM CDT tonight, September 21. Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay indoors and away from windows.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth TX issued the warning at 7:46 PM CDT. At 7:45 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over North Richland Hills, moving south at 10 mph. The storm is producing 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail. Radar indicated these hazards, and numerous reports of pea to dime-sized hail have already been received.

Locations impacted include Fort Worth, Arlington, Euless, Bedford, Grapevine, Haltom City, Keller, Hurst, Southlake, Watauga, Colleyville, Richland Hills, North Richland Hills, DFW International Airport, Westlake, and Grapevine Lake.

Impacts from this storm are expected to include hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. For your protection, stay inside a sturdy structure and keep away from windows until the warning expires.
