Job Opportunity ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST III Requisition Number: 42001093 Pay Plan: Career Service Base Pay: $39,000.00 - $50,000.00 Opening Date: 11/15/2023 Closing Date: 11/29/2023 Job Posting: This is a professional, technical, and supervisory position in the area of environmental protection. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the work of a team of environmental specialists. This position will conduct complex inspections and investigations, develop and implement environmental protection programs, and provide expert consultation and technical assistance to regulated entities and the public. Responsibilities include interpreting and enforcing state and federal environmental laws and regulations, preparing detailed reports, and testifying in legal proceedings. The incumbent will also be involved in public outreach and education regarding environmental issues. This is a career service position with the State of Florida. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in environmental science, biology, chemistry, engineering, or a closely related field is required. Three (3) years of professional experience in environmental protection or natural resource management is required. A master’s degree in a qualifying field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience. Experience in program management or supervision is preferred. Website Sign In Home Departments Community Development Housing Administration First-Time Homebuyer Purchase Assistance Program First-Time Homebuyer Purchase Assistance Program Eligible Applicants  will be invited to apply online starting  Monday, November 2, 2026 at 10 A.M.  Overview The First-Time Homebuyer Purchase Assistance Program (FTHB) provides down payment and closing cost assistance to income-eligible first-time homebuyers purchasing a home within the City of Tamarac.      Who is a first-time homebuyer? Applicants who: Do not currently own a home or did not own a home (house, condo, townhouse, etc.) in the last three (3) years. A single parent who has only owned a home with a former spouse while married (displaced due to divorce within the last three years. Considered on a case-by-case). An individual who is a displaced homemaker and has only owned with a spouse. FTHB applicant must: Obtain a first mortgage for the maximum amount you qualify for, with a fixed interest rate and no pre-payment penalty. The maximum purchase price allowed is $568,577. Not have defaulted on a mortgage within the last seven (7) years. Contribute a minimum of 3% (mortgage industry standards) of the contract price towards closing. Note: Limited funding availability for FTHB applicant at 120% AMI.      Application 🖥️ Application Instructions: Application Link will be provided to the Neighborly website upon the successful completion of the one-on-one counseling class. ⏳ Processing Time: Processing time is contingent upon the successful completion of the one-on-one counseling class [plan accordingly]. 📌 Submission Deadline: Submit all required documents within the timeframe to avoid application denial. Application processing will continue until funds have been exhausted or at the end of the program year, whichever comes first. Note: Unfunded applicants are removed from the system at the end of each program year.
