Clean out your closets, find great deals and connect with your neighbors at the City of Daytona Beach’s Community Yard Sales. Community Yard Sales are held at the Schnebly Recreation Center, 1101 N. Atlantic Ave., from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Upcoming Yard Sale Dates Saturday, Sept. 12 Saturday, Oct. 10 Saturday, Nov. 14 Saturday, Nov. 21 Saturday, Dec. 12 Vendor Information Residents interested in selling items can reserve an indoor or outdoor vendor space. Regular yard sale dates: Outdoor spaces: $10 Indoor spaces: $15 Saturday, Nov. 21: Outdoor spaces: Free Indoor spaces: $10 Indoor registration is limited to two spaces per person, with one table provided for each space. Class Title: ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST III Position Number: 42001093 Salary: $40,417.72 - $64,102.00 Pay Plan: Career Service Location: 3125 ALEXANDRIA DRIVE, TALLAHASSEE, FL 32399-0465 This is a professional position responsible for performing complex environmental protection activities for the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Work involves planning, coordinating, and conducting inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with Florida Statutes and Administrative Code related to environmental protection. This position requires independent judgment and initiative. Duties include, but are not limited to: - Conducting inspections of regulated entities to determine compliance with environmental laws and regulations. - Investigating complaints of environmental pollution and violations. - Collecting and documenting evidence related to environmental violations. - Preparing detailed inspection and investigation reports. - Providing technical assistance and guidance to regulated entities. - Reviewing environmental permits and plans. - Participating in public education and outreach activities. - Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. - Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Thorough knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and policies. - Ability to conduct complex inspections and investigations. - Skill in data collection, analysis, and report writing. - Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Ability to maintain professional demeanor and handle confidential information. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Qualifications: - A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental science, biology, chemistry, geology, engineering, or a closely related field. - Two (2) years of professional experience in environmental protection, environmental management, or a related field. - A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience. - A Doctorate in a related field may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience. - Must possess a valid driver's license.
