Palm Beach County has 39 municipalities, each with its own charter that specifies the terms of elected offices and the frequency of elections. Municipalities run their own elections; therefore, each has its own qualifying dates and rules. Additionally, municipalities may have a provision in their charter that necessitates a run-off election. Municipal elections are nonpartisan, so all voters eligible to vote within the municipality may vote in a Municipal Runoff Election. Only voters living within the boundaries of the municipality are eligible to vote in the election for that municipality. Voters living in unincorporated areas of Palm Beach County are not eligible to vote in Municipal Elections. If you want to know what municipality you live in, you can look at your voter card, view your voter information online, or call our office at (561) 656-6200.
