Fort Walton Beach Police Swears In New Officer From Maritime Background

The Fort Walton Beach Police Department welcomed Officer Nate Snyder in May after he completed the Law Enforcement Academy at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville. Snyder took his oath of office in a ceremony with family and fellow officers present.

Snyder spent two decades as a boat captain, operating offshore oil rig support vessels and watersports charters out of Destin before joining the department. He begins patrol duties this week in the Uniformed Patrol Division.
