Fort Myers Guard/Reserve Get New VetJobs Employment Support
Fort Myers-area National Guard and Reserve members and their families now have access to enhanced, no-cost employment support through an expanded partnership with VetJobs. The organization, focused on military community employment, is tailoring its services for actively drilling Guard and Reserve personnel.
VetJobs aims to improve readiness, retention, and resilience within these service components by connecting members with career opportunities. This initiative acknowledges that more than 87% of Army Reserve members balance military service with civilian careers, bringing valuable skills to the force.
The organization collaborates with existing state and federal programs. VetJobs builds relationships with Reserve Component Commands, State Headquarters, Recruitment and Retention Battalions, and support organizations such as State ESGR Chapters and State Association Chapters.
VetJobs offers flexible partnership models. The "Active Referral" model promotes services through digital and hardcopy materials and co-hosted virtual seminars. The "Full Use" model grants units access to VetJobs' BrassRing Talent Management System for candidate management, with dedicated support. A "Training Partnership" allows units to integrate VetJobs training courses into their existing employment support programs.
VetJobs also supports the U.S. Army Reserve's Private Public Partnership Program (P3), which connects Army Reserve Soldiers and their families to civilian career, internship, and education opportunities. Through P3, VetJobs provides personalized employment assistance and employer connections.
Maj. Gen. (ret.) David May, Vice President of Military Partnerships at VetJobs, can discuss partnership opportunities. Interested parties may contact him at [email protected].
