The Iona McGregor Fire Department's structure fire suppression capabilities underwent evaluation in February 2014. The Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO) conducted the review as part of its Public Protection Classification (PPC™) program.
The PPC program collects and analyzes data on a community's fire suppression capacity. ISO uses its Fire Suppression Rating Schedule (FSRS™) for this evaluation. The surveys aim to ensure data remains current for areas from McGregor Boulevard to the Caloosahatchee River.
The ISO report focused on the department's ability to combat structural fires. This classification can affect insurance rates for homeowners and businesses throughout Lee County.
