Fort Myers Beach Finance Dept: Services & Management
The Town of Fort Myers Beach Finance Department manages the municipality's financial records, internal controls, and investments in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The department receives all town revenues, processes payments and oversees state and federal funds.
The Finance Department coordinates all town budget activities. This includes preparing the proposed annual town budget, forecasting revenues, overseeing the five-year capital improvement program, analyzing the fiscal impact of proposed resolutions and ordinances, and providing operational reviews. Residents can review past budgets, including the Fiscal Year 2023 budget adopted before Hurricane Ian, and the proposed Fiscal Year 2027 budget, presented in 2026.
The department also manages the town's procurement process to maximize public funds through competitive pricing and equitable processes. Services include preparing specifications, evaluating bids and proposals, and administering contracts. The Town uses DemandStar for soliciting bids and proposals. Purchases exceeding $500 require a town purchase order, and vendors should send invoices to [email protected].
