Davie Schools Detail New Uniform Policy Requirements

Davie parents and students must now adhere to a new school uniform policy, outlining requirements for daily wear, physical education, and Friday Mass. All uniforms must be purchased exclusively from Risse Brothers School Uniforms.

The policy specifies distinct requirements for different age groups and genders.

For Pre-K 2/3 students, uniforms include a school logo gray T-shirt with school logo navy PE shorts or sweatpants. Students must wear white or black Velcro shoes/sneakers with white, black, or navy blue socks.

Girls in grades PK4 through 8th grade will wear a school logo Polo shirt. Those in PK4-5 can choose a flat front skort (hem no shorter than three inches from the back of the knee), walking shorts, or regular length pants. Girls in grades 6-8 may wear walking shorts or regular length pants. A solid black belt is mandatory for girls in grades 1-8 when wearing shorts and pants. Acceptable sock colors are white, black, or navy blue, and they must be visible. Solid white, black, or navy blue leggings or tights can be worn under skorts or PE shorts on colder days. Hair accessories are limited to red, white, or navy bows. Tattoos, body writing, colored nail polish, artificial nails, makeup, bleached or tinted hair, hair extensions, and beads in hair are prohibited for Pre-K students. Jewelry is restricted to one post earring on each lower earlobe, one ring, one watch (no smartwatches), and one necklace with a religious medal or cross. Sweatbands and kerchiefs are not permitted as headbands.

Boys in grades PK4 through 8th grade will wear a school logo Polo or Oxford shirt. They must wear navy uniform pants or shorts, with a solid black belt required for grades 1-8. Pants must be worn at waist level. Boys may wear white, black, or navy blue socks that are visible. Tattoos, body writing, and all earrings are prohibited. Fad haircuts, hair tinting, highlighting, or coloring are not allowed, and hair must not touch the shirt collar. Boys must be clean-shaven, with no facial hair permitted, including sideburns. Rubber band bracelets are banned. Jewelry is limited to one ring, one watch (no smartwatches), and one neck chain with a religious medal or cross.

For physical education days, all students will wear a school logo gray T-shirt and school logo navy PE shorts or sweatpants. School spirit shirts are also permitted on PE days. On regular uniform days, students must wear all-black shoes, with high-top sneakers prohibited. For PE days, only black and/or white sneakers are allowed, without other colors, lights, sequences, or glitter. Pre-K through Kindergarten students must wear Velcro sneakers.

The Friday Mass uniform for students in K-8 requires an Oxford shirt (short or long sleeve) with a gender-appropriate tie. Students will wear regular length pants or skorts for girls in grades K-5. Shorts are not permitted for Mass. Shirts must be tucked in, and a solid black belt is required for grades 1-8. Jackets are not allowed during Mass.

School logo sweatshirts and jackets are available at Risse Brothers. Plain navy jackets and sweatshirts without any writing, inscriptions, slogans, or hoods are also acceptable. Other color jackets or sweatshirts must be kept in backpacks.
