Dense Fog Advisory: Drive with Caution This Morning
A dense fog advisory has been issued for multiple counties, with visibility at a quarter-mile or less; drive with caution, as conditions are expected to improve by 10 AM EDT.
Residents in multiple counties are advised to drive with extreme caution this morning due to areas of dense fog. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Pittsburgh has issued a Special Weather Statement effective immediately, September 30, 2026, at 8:50 AM EDT.
Visibility may be reduced to a quarter of a mile or less in some areas. The affected counties include Columbiana, Jefferson, Belmont, Monroe, Mercer, Venango, Forest, Lawrence, Butler, Clarion, Jefferson, Beaver, Allegheny, Armstrong, Washington, Greene in Pennsylvania, and Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, and Wetzel in West Virginia.
The NWS reports that the fog is expected to gradually dissipate, with visibility improving by 10:00 AM EDT. Motorists are urged to use caution if traveling. Reduce speed, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra time to reach your destination.
