Pasco Residents: Opt for Email Court Notices Now

Pasco County residents not represented by an attorney can now receive official court documents electronically. The Sixth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida implemented a new form, Fla. R. Gen. Prac. & Jud. Admin. FORM 2.602, allowing individuals to designate their email addresses for electronic service.

The initiative, effective Oct. 1, 2022, aims to modernize court communication. By completing the "Designation of E-mail Address for a Party not Represented by an Attorney" form, individuals authorize the court, clerk of court, and other parties to send notices, orders, judgments, motions, pleadings, and other written communications directly to their designated email address or through the Florida Courts E-filing Portal.

Individuals using this service must maintain an up-to-date email address with the clerk’s office. The form allows for the designation of a secondary email address if applicable.

The form includes a certificate of service requiring the filer to attest that a copy of the designation was furnished to the clerk of court for Pasco County and any opposing parties. This ensures transparency and proper notification procedures.
