Mary Esther residents are invited to a town hall meeting to discuss Florida's Amendment 3. The proposed change to the state constitution will appear on the Nov. 3, 2026, ballot.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the program room at the Mary Esther Library. Mayor Chris Stein and City Manager Jared Cobb will host the event.
The town hall aims to inform residents about how Amendment 3 could affect homestead exemptions, property assessments and the city's budget. The city is not taking an official stance for or against the amendment. The purpose of the town hall is purely informational.
The evening will begin with a brief presentation outlining the amendment's provisions and its potential financial impact on Mary Esther. Following the presentation, Stein and Cobb will open the floor for questions.
One or more members of the Mary Esther City Council may attend. No official council action will be taken.
