Inverness Requires Subcontractor Lists for Building Permits

Inverness officials now require general contractors to submit a comprehensive list of subcontractors before issuing building permits.

The city's Community Development Department implemented the new rule to enhance transparency and accountability in construction projects.

The 'SUBCONTRACTOR LIST' form, last revised July 17, 2020, mandates details for each subcontractor, including company name, state license number, address, contact information, and license holder. Categories include Electrical, Gas, Mechanical, Plumbing, Roofing, and Specialty/Other Contractors.

Primary contractors must also provide their own company information and sign a statement confirming the listed subcontractors will perform work. Any changes to the list require prior written notification and approval from the Building Official.
