Hillsborough Voters: 2026 Spanish Election Guide Available

Hillsborough County's Supervisor of Elections office released its 2026 Spanish Voter Guide. The guide offers essential information for residents preparing for upcoming elections and aims to help voters of all experience levels understand the electoral process. The guide outlines three voting methods: by mail, early voting, and on Election Day. Voters can complete ballots at home and return them via mail or in person. The Supervisor of Elections office will cover return postage for mail-in ballots, which must arrive by 7 p.m. on Election Day. Early voting provides flexible options with various locations and times, while Election Day voting requires voters to cast ballots at their assigned precinct.

Key dates for the 2026 elections are included in the guide. The voter registration deadline for the Primary Election and the deadline to change political affiliation passed July 20. Primary Election early voting occurred from August 3 to August 16, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The Primary Election Day was August 18, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

For the General Election, the voter registration deadline is October 5. Florida employs closed primaries, requiring voters to register with a political party to participate in that party's primary election. The August Primary Election included partisan and non-partisan contests. Voters affiliated with a major political party cast ballots for candidates in partisan races, such as U.S. Senate and County Commission, advancing to the General Election. All voters, regardless of party affiliation, participated in non-partisan contests for school board and judicial positions during the Primary. Ballots also included amendments, referendums, or Universal Primary Contests, which occur when all candidates in a race share the same political affiliation and the winner faces no opposition in the General Election.

Plant City holds its municipal elections each April. Temple Terrace conducts its municipal elections during the General Election. The City of Tampa will hold its municipal elections in 2027.
